Thursday Tip of the Day! Prim Florals

I wanted to share a neat trick I use on prim florals.

As most of you know, adding a sprig of floral here and there adds so much to your decor.  However, the prim, grungy looking ones always seem to be the most costly! ~ Figures, right??!!

So I found an easy way to get that look with brightly colored, cheap silk florals you can pick up at the dollar store, Walmart  or Hobby Lobby, etc.

So, all you need is some water based stain, mod podge, cinnamon and your florals.

In a small bowl, mix your mod podge and stain.  Now you have to make a decision... you can either add the cinnamon now to the mixture or wait until after you paint the stain mixture onto your florals.

Paint your stain mixture on the petals, leaves, etc.  You can use a paper towel to remove excess.  Now, you can sprinkle the cinnamon on the damp stain mixture. Continue to add more until you get the desired look.

Isn't that easy??
