Mason Jar Monday! Hot Cocoa in a Jar

Who doesn't like Hot Cocoa in the Fall and Winter months?

I have this cute recipe/ idea for you to make lots of gifts that are perfect for teachers, friends, neighbors, etc. etc.  You can be as simple or jazzy with decorating your jar as you like.

This recipe makes a terrific cup of cocoa too, by the way!

And, the recipe is so simple, it is fun to get the kids involved too!

Ingredients

Mason Jars
6 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 (5oz) pkg. Non- Instant chocolate pudding
1 cup powdered chocolate drink mix
1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

++ Optional:  Crushed up Candy Canes, or miniature marshmallows ++

Directions:

This will make several mason jars full.  I prefer to use pint sized jars, but it's entirely up to you.

Take a large bowl and mix all of the ingredients with a wooden spoon.  If you choose to add the crushed candy or marshmallows, you can either mix them right into the mixture or add them to the mason jar after you have filled them, so they sit right up on top.

Now, put your cocoa mix into your jars.  Attach a tag with instructions, add some ribbon, bells, ornaments, etc.

Instructions:

Dissolve 1/3 cup of cocoa mix to one cup of boiling water.  Enjoy!
